Thousands of elections are held in America every year. Each of them reveals a little bit about us as a country. Election results don’t just tell us who won; they shine a spotlight on the political dividing lines that drive history forward and tell us the story of how our communities and our nation have changed over time.

Nothing in politics will ever be more accurate than election data. No poll will tell you with absolute certainty what worked and what didn’t in a campaign. Only careful analysis at the precinct and individual voter levels can do that. Technology allows us to mine this information like never before, mapping subtle changes in turnout and voter attitudes down to the neighborhood level, and building a powerful knowledge base about how elections are won.
